The crate scan that changed Saturday
Why the scanner exists, told from the aisle.
There is a specific silence in a record shop when you have the jacket in your left hand and the disc in your right and you are trying to remember whether this is the stereo you want or the stereo that disappointed you in 2019. Your friends have moved to jazz. The clerk is kind and busy. The clock in your chest is loud.
That is the product
Spinz started as a way to make that silence useful. Point the camera at the label. Get a name you can trust. Decide like a person who has done this before, even if you have not.
I do not want an app that turns collecting into a warehouse job. I want the two minutes in the crate to feel like the rest of the culture: fast, a little romantic, slightly ridiculous, and then over.
What changed
Before the scanner, I bought with folklore and regret. After, I still buy with folklore. I just regret the records I was honest about. The Vault remembers. The Saturday map gets me to the next shop before I start narrating my taste to a stranger.
If you want the long version, it lives on the app page. If you want the short version: scan it, trust it, take it home — or put it back like a pro.
